Peels

Woman relaxing at the spa.

Chemical peels are a  proven way to refresh, rejuvenate, and restore your skin’s natural glow. By safely removing the outermost layer of dull, damaged skin, chemical peels encourage cell turnover and reveal a smoother, more even complexion underneath. Whether you’re looking to reduce fine lines, clear up blemishes, or brighten uneven skin tone, our estheticians design a peel treatment that is customized just for you.

What Is a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a non-invasive skincare treatment that uses carefully selected solutions (such as alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs), trichloroacetic acid (TCA), or blended medical-grade formulations) to gently exfoliate the skin. Depending on the strength of the peel, the treatment can address surface-level issues or penetrate deeper layers of the skin for more dramatic results.

At Sneed MediSpa and Wellness, our estheticians select the perfect peel based on your skin type, concerns, and goals, ensuring both safety and effectiveness.

Benefits of Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are a versatile treatment that can improve a wide range of skin concerns, including:

  • Dullness and uneven skin tone
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Sun damage and hyperpigmentation
  • Acne and post-acne scarring
  • Enlarged pores
  • Rough texture and dry patches

By stimulating new cell growth and collagen production, chemical peels help you achieve skin that is brighter, smoother, and more youthful.

Types of Peels

Because every patient’s skin is unique, we offer a range of peels that can be tailored to your needs:

  • Light Peels (Superficial): Gentle treatments using mild acids like glycolic or lactic acid to refresh the skin and restore radiance with little to no downtime. Perfect for first-time peel patients or those looking for a quick glow-up.
  • Medium Peels: More advanced formulas such as TCA peels target fine lines, sun spots, and uneven pigmentation while delivering deeper exfoliation. Downtime is typically a few days, but results are more dramatic.
  • Advanced / Specialty Peels: For stubborn concerns like acne scars or significant photoaging, we use customized medical-grade blends to rejuvenate the skin at a deeper level. These peels require more recovery but deliver transformative results.

During your consultation, your esthetician will evaluate your skin and recommend the best type of peel for your individual goals.

What to Expect During a Peel

Your chemical peel treatment begins with a thorough cleansing of the skin. The peel solution is then applied for a specific amount of time, depending on the strength and your skin’s sensitivity. You may feel a mild tingling or warming sensation during the process, which typically lasts 10-20 minutes.

After the peel, your skin may look slightly pink or feel tight. Light peels may cause little to no visible peeling, while medium and stronger peels can produce noticeable flaking or shedding for several days as your skin renews itself.

Recovery and Results

Post-peel, it’s essential to follow your esthetician’s aftercare instructions to maximize results and protect your skin:

  • Apply gentle moisturizers and avoid harsh exfoliants.
  • Use broad-spectrum sunscreen daily, as your skin will be more sensitive to UV rays.
  • Avoid picking or peeling skin manually to allow for natural healing.

Most clients notice brighter, smoother skin within a week, with continued improvements over time. A series of peels, spaced several weeks apart, can produce optimal results for stubborn concerns such as acne scarring or pigmentation.
